These cams are part of Kouba’s Axel cam range, featuring 4 lobes about double axles.

The bi-axial construction allows a large expansion range for greater contact with the rock, giving a more secure camming effect in cracks and breaks. The single stem construction provides maximum flexibility and allows for easy placement. Axel cams are also equipped with an integrated extendable sling to reduce rope drag on long routes. The slings and segments are colour coded for quick identification and easy handling.

Specification

Axel cams, as with all Kouba climbing equipment, are CE 1015 and EN 12276 certified with the relevant certifications. Kouba have been making active and passive rock climbing protection for 20 years in Czech Republic, specialising in nuts, cams and abalaks.

Axel cams

The axel cams seem well made and very sturdy. Compared to my wild country friends, they are definitely a bit heavier, but can't argue with the price. Very good that they came without any plastic packaging.
