Who we are

Sgùrr is a UK based online climbing shop, run by trad climbing enthusiasts Rob and Lucy. We work with suppliers of climbing, bouldering and mountaineering equipment from outside the UK, and distribute these awesome products via our online shop.

There are dozens of brands from around the world that many of us have never heard of, yet provide amazing quality and value for money. We want to showcase these products in the UK, so don’t hesitate to visit our pages and discover a range of equipment that you never knew existed at competitive prices.

At Sgùrr, ensuring the safety of our customers is paramount. We ensure that all our gear is certified with the relevant safety certification; either UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) or the requisite EN qualification, making it safe to use within an internationally agreed performance envelope.

Our story

During a climbing trip to Scotland in 2021, we completed the full traverse of the Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye; an infamous route of epic proportions. The route encompassed everything we love about climbing and mountaineering - the challenge, the focus, the freedom and the accomplishment. 

Inspired by these wild and rugged Scottish peaks, we founded Sgùrr in 2021 as a way of facilitating our passion for climbing, mountaineering and exploration. 

Our goal with Sgùrr is to bring affordable, quality climbing equipment and apparel to the UK. By collaborating with international suppliers, we import these products from across Europe to the UK market.

Meet the team

Sgùrr is run by us - Rob and Lucy. We are predominantly trad climbers  and run Sgùrr from our home in Cumbria. We have climbed in every corner of the UK, from Scottish mountain crags, to Peak grit, Cornish sea cliffs and beyond to the alpine regions of Chamonix and the Dolomites. Through the creation of Sgùrr we hope that climbers, mountaineers and alpinists alike can share our eagerness for adventure and dedication to the outdoors.
